Rhoda graduated with an Associate of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from Fresno City College, and received her Bachelors degree in Dental Hygiene while continuing her education to receive certification from University of the Pacific Dental School to become a Registered Dental Hygienist in Alternative Practice. She is a contributor to oral health advancement at a local, state and national level.
In 1998 California Law (AB560) was passed allowing Hygienists in Alternative Practice to work independently of a dentist. Much advancement has been made but much work in educating the public is still ahead. Through education and perserverence Rhoda hopes to educate others of the services RDHAP's can provide. Her goal is to advance the oral health for individuals of all ages and backgrounds, from those that are pregnant, to children and seniors who are experiencing difficulty accessing preventative Dental Hygiene care.
